Walmart de México receives your merchandise invoices with an EDIFACT message inside the CFDI addenda, and sends you its purchase orders and remittance advice over EDI. We set up your connection over AS2 or an EDI service bureau, with the addenda its guide requires, and link it to your ERP.

What Walmart de México requires from suppliers
Walmart describes three channels for receiving invoices. Electronic interchange is for suppliers of merchandise for resale, and it validates the addenda, the EDI structure and the tax and commercial data.

- Before you start
- Your products must be listed in the GS1 Mexico catalog with the same code, description and price as on the order. The implementation guide is requested from Walmart de México's EDI team, and the connection goes through testing before production.

Your CFDI 4.0 goes out with your supplier number, purchase order, department and GLNs, in the structure the guide requires.

We run connection and structure tests with Walmart and review CONTRL and APERAK acknowledgments until it approves production.

An addenda with an EDIFACT message that carries your supplier number, the purchase order, the department, the GLNs of the buyer and of the store or distribution center, and the Walmart SKU of each item. It goes inside the same CFDI 4.0, after the stamp.
Can I invoice Walmart without EDI?
Walmart has a Mailbox for National Suppliers that receives invoices with a reduced addenda, intended for suppliers who do not run EDI. For merchandise suppliers, the intended channel is electronic interchange over AS2 or an EDI service bureau.
Can Retail Link's Web EDI be used for invoicing?
No. According to Walmart, Web EDI is a free application to view and print orders and remittance advice. Electronic invoices are sent over AS2, an EDI service bureau or the Mailbox for National Suppliers.
What is APERAK?
It is the message Walmart uses to accept or reject your invoice based on its commercial data, for example a purchase order that does not match. We review it together with the CONTRL acknowledgment for each transmission.
Do Bodega Aurrera and Sam's Club use the same addenda?
They are part of Walmart de México and use the same channels and the same merchandise addenda. Confirm with your buyer whether your agreement specifies another legal entity or a different format.
